FARMINGTON -- Two Top of Utah managers with the Hilton Garden Inn/Davis Conference Center have received statewide recognition from the Utah Hotel and Lodging Association.

Hilton Garden Inn/Davis Conference Center General Manager Scott Lunt and hotel/center manager Connie Harmston received Stars of the Industry Awards, respectively being named general manager of the year and outstanding manager of the year.

The awards were presented to the pair at the association's annual convention last month at the Salt Lake City Center.

Hilton Garden Inn/Davis Conference Center Chef Enrique Yescas, who has been with the center for five years, was also recognized by the association with a third-place award in his category.

The trio from the center/hotel located in Layton were recognized for their accomplishments by the Davis County Commission on Tuesday.

Lunt said he was honored to receive the award, while Harmston, who has been in the business for more than 30 years, expressed appreciation for being able to work in such an industry.

Commissioners and county staff praised them for their roles in helping welcome people to Davis County.

The Davis Conference Center and adjoining Hilton Garden Inn is a public/private joint venture.

Farmers Insurance hosts the annual Stars of the Industry Awards luncheon. Utah hoteliers are nominated by their peers for exceptional performance in the workplace.
